On Friday 5th August, we held our first ever charity football match to raise money for Hope House & Ty Gobaith – a local children’s hospice which we’re proud to have supported for a number of years.
As soon as the game was announced internally the countdown to kick off started. The game pitted staff from the warehouse against employees from the office, and bragging rights were at stake!
With a very tense and surprisingly serious pre-match build up in the days leading up to the match, each team was keen to get the game underway come matchday at The New Saints FC home ground in Oswestry.

Following two rousing pre-match team talks, the two teams stepped out of the players’ tunnel with a “Champions League style” entrance, including blue smoke, music, and an eager and extremely vocal crowd.
After a tightly contested match it was the office team that emerged as victors, with the game ending 5-2.
So far, the charity match has raised £500 thanks to the donations of Net World Sports employees. All funds raised will be given to Hope House children’s hospice. Offering priceless support to hundreds of local families, Hope House & Ty Gobaith care for terminally ill children and provide vital support to parents and siblings whose child has passed away. We are extremely proud to be supporters of the charity, who provide a professional and indispensable service across North Wales, Shropshire, Cheshire and Powys.
“We’re delighted to be able to help raise the vital funds needed for this wonderful charity. Hope House & Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospices has been our chosen charity for a number of years now and it’s fantastic to be able to show our support whilst also getting the team together for some friendly competition. Thank you to our partners at The New Saints FC for allowing us to use their pitch and facilities for this special occasion. With the office confident in retaining their title as champions, I’m sure the warehouse staff will be eager for a comeback next year! Let the countdown begin.”

Now set to be an annual event, we are already looking forward to another competitive FORZA Cup match in 2023.

Finally we’d like to thank The New Saints FC our partners, for letting us use their pitch and facilities!
